Learn Convo – Bring Education to Everyone

Education for everyone. Learning beyond borders. Through one digital platform.

In today’s digital era, education is no longer limited to classrooms, geographical boundaries, or national systems. However, unequal access to education remains a global challenge. Responding to this issue, a collaboration between Indonesian and Swiss students was formed to create Learn Convo, a digital education initiative that aims to make learning more inclusive and accessible for everyone

What is Learn Convo?

Learn Convo is a digital education platform hosted on Instagram under the account @learn.convo (instagram.com), designed to deliver educational content that is easy to access, free of charge, and relevant to today’s learners.

Access to education is still unequal in many parts of the world. In addition, learning systems vary significantly across countries, influencing how students learn, think, and grow academically. At the same time, social media has become an essential part of students’ daily lives and has proven to be an effective medium for learning when used purposefully. These realities inspired the creation of Learn Convo as a platform that bridges educational gaps through digital and social-based learning.

The collaboration between Indonesian and Swiss students aims to make education accessible to everyone, regardless of background or location. It also seeks to share global learning perspectives by presenting different educational approaches from both countries. Most importantly, Learn Convo connects students from different nations through meaningful digital content that encourages learning and cross-cultural understanding.

Learn Convo utilizes Instagram as its main platform to deliver educational content in a simple and engaging way. Through the account @learn.convo, learning materials are presented in short, visually appealing formats that are easy to understand and share. All content is provided for free, allowing learners to access educational resources anytime and anywhere without barriers. Educational videos are the primary format used on Learn Convo, as they are effective in capturing attention and delivering information clearly. The content covers both academic and non-academic topics, including study tips, insights into the Indonesian and Swiss education systems, and global learning perspectives. These videos aim not only to inform but also to inspire students by presenting education from an international point of view.

Learn Convo stands out through its collaboration between international students, offering authentic cross-cultural learning experiences. By combining different educational backgrounds and perspectives, the platform delivers simple yet engaging educational content that promotes the idea of education without borders. Learn Convo is expected to contribute to more inclusive access to education and increase global learning awareness among students. By using digital platforms, it also aims to boost learning motivation and build an international learning community that supports shared knowledge and collaboration. Learn Convo represents a small step toward a bigger impact. Through one digital platform, it strives to deliver education for everyone and encourage learning beyond borders.

Reflection

This intercultural collaboration between Indonesian and Swiss students was an enriching experience that highlighted both the joys and challenges of working across borders. Key challenges included navigating significant time zone differences (e.g., Indonesia being 6-7 hours ahead of Switzerland), which required flexible scheduling for meetings and asynchronous communication tools like shared docs and messaging apps. Language nuances occasionally led to minor misunderstandings, and aligning on content styles—balancing the more structured, detail oriented Swiss approach with the adaptable, community-focused Indonesian perspective—took some iteration. Despite these hurdles, we learned invaluable lessons: the power of diverse viewpoints in creating more innovative and relatable educational content, improved cross-cultural communication skills through active listening and empathy, and how digital platforms like Instagram can truly democratize access to knowledge. Overall, the process boosted our motivation, fostered lasting connections, and reinforced our commitment to education without borders—it was eye-opening and rewarding, proving that small collaborative efforts can spark broader global impact.
